Executive - Entrepreneur - Advocate

Jauvonne Kitto has over 20 years of combined experience spanning executive management, economic development, regulatory affairs, crisis and risk management, and organizational governance.  Jauvonne has built a career focused on enabling organizations and communities to operate efficiently, sustainably, and profitably. Her professional journey encompasses leadership roles across the public, private, First Nations, federal, provincial governments, and non-profit sectors. 


She currently serves on the boards of Saa Dene Group, Questerre Energy, Praxis Spinal Cord Institute, Calgary Housing Company, Information Communications Council of Canada and various First Nation Economic Development Corporations. She also sits on the Nature Conservancy Canada - Alberta Advisory Board, Nature Conservancy Canada Conservation Committee, Nuclear Energy Leadership Table, Business Council of Alberta Energy and Environment Committee.    She is a member of the Forbes Business Council, Energy Council of Canada,  Business Council of Alberta and the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business. 


She resides with her family in Calgary, Alberta with her daughter and son.


Here's a bit more about Jauvonne's career: 


She previously served on the boards of Fort McKay Group of Companies, Past Chair of the Onion Lake Group of Companies, Abegweit Economic Development Corp., KidsSport and Springboard Performance.  She is also a past governor of  Canadian Energy Executive Association (formerly The Oilmans) and served as a student mentor under the REDEVLOP at the University of Calgary from 2019 to 2023.


In 2019,  she co-founded the Saa Dene Group of Companies and has remained the Chief Executive Officer for  eight years.   Jauvonne has been instrumental in the companies  exceptionally fast growth and portfolio  of companies and partnerships.  She continues to serve as a  senior advisor and negotiator to various First Nations and Governments across North America. 


From 2011 to April 2019, she served in various senior roles for Fort McKay First Nation, including  as the Executive Director.
